So Skiathos slips out of Autumn and in to the festive season. With the trees going up and the lights going on in town in the next week or so I wandered around town to get a few last snapshots showing how dramatic and beautiful Skiathos still is even at this time of year.

The streets are very quiet this time of year apart from the friendly pockets of locals dotted around.

Most tavernas are closed by now and being inhabited by the furry kind of locals but the few that remain open are always lively with people enjoying the lovely fish meze available in the winter as well as a warming tispero or two.

These lovely dishes of traditional gavros and garlic sautéed aubergine were enjoyed at Mouragio taverna located along the new port.
