Kitchen design is notoriously hard. You have to consider both function and aesthetics. Using the space to its best advantage is always a challenge no matter what size of the room.

Designing a small kitchen space for a rental property has to be practical and attractive to potential renters. You need to include the basic appliances, enough storage for glasses, pots, pans, plates, dry foods etc and the ability to keep the area clean and organised.

Once the old kitchen was ripped out we needed to completely overhaul the plumbing, electrics and wall and historical wall damage.

We wanted to keep a fresh, original Greek feel to the area so built in simple shelves for storage as well as to 'hold' the appliances.

This gives a 'fitted' kitchen feel at a very budget cost. Using the chosen wall tiles as part of the worktop space gives a practical and easy to clean surface to work on.

A found slab of marble and an original marble sink no longer needed was obtained from a friendly local in the town and they give a bespoke quirky alternative to an 'off the shelf' looking kitchen.

We sourced a vintage display cabinet, small wooden table and stools to make the most of the remaining space and added little details such as a vintage first aid box and tomato tin cans (easy bought in the local supermarkets) as decorative cutlery holders.
