This was a beautiful renovation of the entrance and hallway of a stunning property in the old town of Skiathos.

It was full of original features which of course needed to be bought back to their former glory.

The dull brown painted doors were an authentic colour for Skiathos town but sanding, repairing and repainting in a bright grey blue which we carried throughout the doors and windows of the whole house gave a romantic, bright finish.

One of the key features of the property was the split staircase as you walked through the double doors. It gave the hallway a sense of importance that the house deserved and the thick yellow paint that was caked on the steps just had to go!

So the laborious task of stripping all the paint off began and it was so worth it to discover the beautiful original wood underneath.

At the top of the stairs facing you as you climbed up was a feature niche which once retiled and painted was the ideal place to show off the antique mirror found in the property as well as some of the old glassware left in the house. We added to the vintage feel of the area by using an old printing tray to display small stones and shells gathered on the nearby beaches and used contemporary but sympathetic lighting on the walls and as a main feature chandelier type ball above the main landing area.
